As a teenage cat, Lucy decided to live with a young human couple on Harwood Road in Fulham, but they were both out at work every day and Lucy soon became bored. She realized that she preferred the company of human beings to that of cats, and after carefully considering her options, she decided to move round the corner and share No 16 with Betty and Chris, who were already living there.
She has few feline friends but many human ones and soon got to know most of the people in the street, visiting uninvited and gatecrashing their barbecues.
